De Nacht van de Viool is the first festival in the Netherlands dedicated to showcasing the versatility of the violin. The inaugural edition in 2023 was a tremendous success, and the upcoming second edition promises to be equally extraordinary.
The upper halls of TivoliVredenburg will once again resonate with a diverse range of musical genres, spanning from Irish and Romanian folk music to jazz, rock, improvisation, and even a silent disco.
The Balcony Players will be gracing the stage at De Nacht van de Viool in Utrecht on January 26, 2024. In response to numerous requests, a dance space has been specially created in the KF Hein Foyer for the second Nacht van de Viool. Fest Noz, a Breton night celebration, is a folk festivity where people of all ages come together to dance. The live music will be delivered by the versatile violinist and singer Moniek de Leeuw, who was part of last year’s festival lineup. This time, she will be performing with her vibrant gypsy/klezmer band,The Balcony Players.
